welcome to S4all....a place to scrap and meet friends.
I don't know about the weather where you are, but in January where I live, there are a lot of dark, gray days. Dreary - and I have the "after Christmas blahs" for awhile.
Well, let's BRIGHTEN UP! For my first challenge of 2012, I'd like to challenge you to make a card, layout, ATC, whatever you'd like - with BRIGHT colors. Here's a sample of the paper pack that I bought with a gift certificate from Stacy for winning one of her challenges. I just took it out of the wrapper and am dying to use it. When I ordered it, I knew this dreariness would be getting to me and I'd need something bright.
Here are the papers and I'm going to be creating a card out of some of it and I'll post it tomorrow. See all that luscious pink, bright blue and lime green? I can't wait to get busy with this collection.
There's no sketch, no recipe, no certain items you have to use - just use bright (think spring) colors!! I'll post my sample tomorrow, but I know this little picture will give you plenty of inspiration if you want to go ahead and get started before that.
This challenge will run now through January 15th, at midnight, EST.
I'm going to start running two challenges a month in this challenge group. Reason is, I think we're all pretty over making Christmas cards right now - I know I am, anyway.
You can combine this challenge with any other challenges here, I just ask that your project be new. You can enter as often as you'd like, but only one entry per person will be counted in the final drawing the the RAK.
Please post your projects right here in this thread, because it's easier for me that way. Ha ha
I can't wait to see what you all create!!!
Here's my sample card:

Permalink Reply by Cheryl Caldwell-Nyboer DT on January 3, 2012 at 5:00am I got my example made today, but ran out of light. I'm going to photograph it tomorrow.
Permalink Reply by Lucinda on January 3, 2012 at 3:23pm Not sure if this counts, because I created it yesterday before I read this challenge.
I wanted to do something bright and cheerful, plus I found pack of primary bright colors of plain cardstock when cleaning my scrap area!
I love to work with brights. This is a mini album (Laura Dennison's telescoping album) that I created as a gift for someone.

It's definitely a bright and cheery project. Perfect for the challenge theme! :)

This is gorgeous and soooo perfect for this challenge - exactly what I had in mind!! It IS bright and cheerful!
It absolutely counts - and I LOVE it!!
Permalink Reply by Cheryl Caldwell-Nyboer DT on January 3, 2012 at 6:20pm Hi Jose, I'm glad you like the idea of "brightening up". We have a TINY bit of sun here today, but it looks fleeting. I need some decent light to photograph my card.
Permalink Reply by Lucinda on January 3, 2012 at 6:27pm Jose, it is nice to be back. I really missed reading through the challenges and such. Hopefully it will continue as one of my goals is to get scrappy with layouts and all my 'buildup' of materials. Thanks!
Cheryl, so glad it counts - it was a blast (though challenging) to create. I am happy with results - they are actually close to what I envisioned! Thanks!
Permalink Reply by Cheryl Caldwell-Nyboer DT on January 3, 2012 at 6:31pm I LOVE your album, Lucinda. It does look like a lot of work, but it holds a bunch of pictures, doesn't it?
Permalink Reply by Lucinda on January 3, 2012 at 6:35pm Yes, I counted - it will hold between 96 and 116 regular size prints - depending on sizes. Plus there is a large pocket on the inside back cover and a clip on the inside front for memorabilia. I have to take some more pics so I can remember what all I added.
